About

I'm a Pre-Sales Specialist and Solutions Engineer with 3+ years at Rakuten SixthSense, where I've served as the primary SE for all of APAC and India — managing a $1.5M+ target pipeline across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and the Philippines simultaneously. I've run discovery sessions, technical demos, and POC discussions for some of the region's most recognisable institutions: central banking authorities, national carriers, national telcos, national payments infrastructure providers, leading healthtech platforms, and defence and engineering conglomerates.

Here's what the last 3+ years have actually looked like:

I'm not a pure salesperson and I'm not a pure engineer. I'm the person who gets called when the customer is stuck, the demo isn't landing, or nobody can agree on what the product actually does. I figure it out.

Wins

Not a list of responsibilities. Actual things that happened.

Government · Enterprise Deal

Closed a $200K contract with India's largest government organisation

$200K · India's largest government organisation · Zero shortcuts.

Led the full pre-sales motion — discovery, technical demo, POC, and commercial negotiation support — for a full-stack observability deployment inside one of India's most security-constrained environments. Stood up the Kubernetes cluster from scratch, coordinated platform deployment with engineering, and installed agents across air-gapped infrastructure. Delivered the final technical demo to stakeholders spanning public defence and space organisations months later, after navigating one of the longest and most security-constrained procurement cycles I've worked through.

Getting to close here isn't about pressure. It's about technical precision, patience, and keeping a deal warm across a long, non-linear cycle.

Delivery · Operational Impact

Cut enterprise on-premises deployment time from weeks to days

Before: 2 weeks–2 months. After: 1–2 days. · $100K deal closed faster because the technical delivery didn't slow it down.

Identified repeated friction in on-premises deployments that was destroying POC timelines and post-sale onboarding. The variance was brutal — best case two weeks, worst case two months. That kind of unpredictability kills deal momentum and gives prospects time to lose confidence.

Systematised the entire process from scratch. Built reusable runbooks, environment checklists, and troubleshooting guides — turning what had been ad hoc into something repeatable and fast. One enterprise banking customer specifically cited the speed and quality of their deployment as a key reason for their decision.

Engineering · Deal Save

Built a custom telemetry agent in under 2 weeks to save a $200K+ account

Under 2 weeks · Zero escalations · $200K+ account retained.

A critical client-side instrumentation blocker was threatening to derail a major account. The backend team couldn't unblock it on the timeline needed. Waiting wasn't an option.

Diagnosed the root cause, wrote the agent, tested it, and shipped it to production — in under two weeks, without backend team dependency, without escalation. The deal was saved. The account stayed. The blocker became a runbook.

APAC · Market Development

Sole SE for all of APAC — 50+ enterprise engagements across 9 countries

$1.5M+ target pipeline · 9 countries · 50+ active enterprise engagements across APAC.

Served as the primary Solutions Engineer for all of Southeast Asia and India simultaneously — managing a $1.5M+ target pipeline spanning Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Ran discovery, demos, and POC discussions for some of the region's most recognisable institutions: central banking authorities, national carriers, national telcos, national payments infrastructure providers, leading healthtech platforms, and defence and engineering conglomerates.

Adapted technical positioning across wildly different industries, regulatory contexts, and digital maturity levels — from regulated financial institutions to government bodies to high-growth startups — across 9 countries in a single role. Built partner relationships with system integrators and resellers across Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Indonesia to extend reach into markets where direct access was limited.

Product · Roadmap Influence

Shaped the product roadmap — three times

15+ gaps surfaced · 3 prioritised to roadmap · Customer frustration → shipped product.

Being in the field means seeing things the product team doesn't. Customer frustrations that don't make it into support tickets. Competitive gaps that only surface during live comparison demos. Friction that compounds across every POC.

Surfaced 15+ product gaps by synthesising direct customer feedback from across India and SEA, competitive analysis across Datadog, Splunk, Elastic, and Grafana Loki, and patterns emerging across engagements in 9 countries. Three of those gaps were prioritised by Engineering and Product into the active roadmap — bridging the distance between what customers actually need and what the product ships.

Speaking · Technical Workshops

Delivered technical workshops across defence, space, banking, and security organisations

5–6 workshops · Public defence & space organisations · International banks & security companies.

5–6 workshops and seminars on observability, AI, and enterprise technology — delivered to some of India's most technically rigorous audiences including public defence organisations, national space agencies, international banks, and international security and data companies.

These aren't sales pitches. They're technical sessions where people push back and you have to know your stuff.

What I Do

PS

Pre-Sales & Solutions Engineering

End-to-end POC ownership, demo delivery, solution design, RFP responses. I've been the primary SE for all of APAC and India — adapting technical positioning across 9 countries, wildly different industries, and C-suite stakeholders from central banking authorities to high-growth startups. I partner with sales to be the most useful technical person in the room, wherever that room happens to be.

API

API Security

I run pre-sales for an enterprise API security platform — discovery calls, live demos, POCs, and RFP responses. I've helped customers find shadow APIs they didn't know existed, identify zombie endpoints still receiving traffic, and map their real exposure against the OWASP API Top 10. I built the technical documentation for this product and have worked deals from first call to signed contract across enterprise, government, and regulated industries.

OBS

Full Stack Observability

Three years owning enterprise observability POCs end-to-end. I've built multi-agent telemetry environments from scratch — real-time metrics, traces, and logs across Java, Go, and Python microservices. Once built a custom telemetry agent in under 2 weeks to save a $200K+ deal. Stack coverage: bare-metal Kubernetes (kubeadm), Istio, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, OpenSearch — including air-gapped government deployments.

DO

Data Observability

I help customers define what healthy data actually looks like for their stack, run POCs against real pipelines, and build the internal business case. I've run pre-sales and technical enablement across enterprise data teams — and contributed to the official product documentation, which means I understand the product at a depth that shows in customer conversations.

CS

Customer Success

Post-close, I stay involved. I've handled agent installs, resolved license and usage questions, answered capability deep-dives, and identified expansion opportunities across the account base in India and SEA. Several customers have expanded based on work I did after the initial deal closed. The pre-sales motion doesn't stop at signature.

DOC

Technical Documentation

Authored and maintained docs for API Security and Data Observability using Docusaurus. This wasn't just copywriting — I translated complex detection logic, monitoring concepts, and integration patterns into developer-friendly content for external stakeholders and partners. Writing the docs also made me a sharper engineer for both products: you can't explain something well unless you actually understand it.

Projects

Personal Project · AI/ML

Metal-Lyrics-GPT

A GPT built from scratch — trained on Metal lyrics instead of Shakespeare. Inspired by Andrej Karpathy's "Let's Build GPT From Scratch" and implemented entirely in Python, it's a character-level language model that starts as "I want to understand how this actually works" and ends with a model that generates surprisingly aggressive text.

The comparison demo shows the model at each stage of the build — from basic bigram to full transformer blocks with attention, residual connections, and layer norm — so you can see exactly how each architectural addition improves the output.

Personal Project · Infrastructure

Enterprise Log Analytics Platform

Built a log analytics platform from scratch capable of handling ~1,400 logs/sec. Started from first principles — identified the core problem (noisy, overlapping log patterns making logs unreadable at scale), defined what correct output actually looks like, and built toward that.

A Bit More

I'm genuinely curious about how things work — not just at a surface level but all the way down. That curiosity is what got me into observability (you can't fix what you can't see), what got me interested in API security (APIs are everywhere and most people have no idea what's actually talking to what), and what made me want to build a GPT from scratch instead of just calling an API.

I game. I find mundane problems interesting. I like figuring out why something is broken more than I like the moment it's fixed. I think the best solutions are the ones that feel obvious in hindsight.
